Since the outbreak of Covid-19, we have been forced to change a lot of things and life has not been the same. From social distancing to wearing masks everywhere we go, we have had to adjust every aspect of our lives and this includes the things we carry in our bags.
In the recent past, probably all you needed was an extra pair of shoes, an umbrella and a wallet as the bare minimum but now you need much more than that. Here are some things you should always have in your bag:
An extra maskAlthough you should be wearing a mask each time you leave the house, carrying an extra one is also as important. These disposable masks are not the strongest masks and they might not last throughout the day. Having one for emergency is key. Also they are prone to dust and it wouldn’t be sanitary to put on one mask the whole day.
A bottle of sanitizerYou are probably thinking sanitizers are available at the entrance of every building and having your own would be useless but remember it never hurts to be extra careful. When you carry your own sanitizer you are sure of where it has been, at the very least. With the public ones you can't be certain what has been added to the sanitizer or where the water for washing your hands was fetched. Also with your own bottle you can sanitize your hands whenever you feel like it.
GlovesA packet of gloves may seem like you are going to the extremes but it can come in handy when you have to get into a supermarket or go to a open air market. Since everyone is always touching food stuffs and basic items, having your own gloves will help you stay clean and comfortable when doing your shopping. As the saying goes, it is better to be safe than sorry.
A packet of wet wipesWell, wet wipes are probably an old song but currently they are a handbag essential. Not only will they help you wipe off dust from your shoes but they can also come in handy when you need to wipe off surfaces you come in contact with. Like in the office, before settling down you can wipe the surface and your computer keyboard with some wet wipes before you start work. Go for the alcohol based ones that are more effective in getting rid of all the germs.
A water bottleSince you will spend half your day walking to the dispenser to get drinking water, it is important to carry your own water bottle so you don’t have to touch the provided plastic cups. You can never be too sure who touched them and at what time and you will have to drink from them. At least with your own water bottle, you stay hydrated all day and it saves you half the amount of time you have to walk around getting water.
