Do you have low self-esteem?

If you think about it, having low self-confidence can negatively impact the quality of partners you choose, the friends you surround yourself with, the career choices you make and technically every part of your existence whether you acknowledge it or not.

For you to build that confidence, you need to do the inner work.

You need to have a meeting with yourself for you to understand why you’re not happy with the way you look and what to do about it.

If you’re battling any one of these struggles, here are some steps you can take to feel better about your appearance:

Accept yourself for who you are

The fact is that you don’t get to decide how you show up in this world. We definitely have some people who are blessed from head to toe but the majority of us are average with a couple of flaws here and there.

Either way, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the face structure of a model or the figure of a goddess. The world will teach you that you need to go for surgery if you don’t have certain features but that shouldn’t pressure you if you have already accepted yourself for how you were created.

There are more important things in life than a big butt, small nose and toned abs will never fix or change. Accept your body and learn to appreciate yourself as you are.

Be honest about what you should work on

Accepting yourself doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take care of your body. You have to be honest if there are things you can change so you can begin to work on them.

Your confidence will be affected if you don’t take care of your hair, your teeth and your body in general so you have to be real with yourself about it.

Build a self-care routine

After you assess what changes you need to make, you need to figure out a self-care routine that works for you. The good thing is that you don’t have to complicate it because the best routines are very simple.

For example, you can quickly exfoliate your feet while you shower as maintenance in between your pedicure sessions.

You don’t have to wait until you have time for a full body self-care day for you to look good and feel confident again.

Speak positively about yourself

Words have the power to impact what your reality is. You might be struggling to build your self-confidence because you keep tearing yourself down.

Each time you feel a certain way remind yourself of verses like ‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made.’ Call yourself out when you’re making belittling comments and change how you view yourself by bringing in more positive vibes.

Embrace the bad days

No matter how perfect your self-care routine is or how you look, you will have days when your body just doesn’t want to cooperate with you.

These are times when we can be so harsh on ourselves and that needs to stop. You will have moments when you have pimples, a bloated belly and other unpleasant changes that are part of life.
