Aloe vera hair recipes

Living

Aloe vera can work magic on your hair. Today, I share some recipes whose main ingredient is Aloe Vera. The mixes are not 100 per cent accurate and you can vary the ratios to suit your needs. The recipes are for a shampoo, a detangler and conditioner.

Shampoo

This includes a mixture of honey and aloe vera.

You will need:

•             ¼ cup of aloe gel

•             2 tablespoons of honey

•             2 tablespoons of cider vinegar

Instructions

Blend all the ingredients in a small bowl. The mixture will be frothy and slimy, and doesn’t have a pleasant smell. Adding a few drops of your favourite hair oil will make it pleasant to use. It is preferable to mix the ingredients just before you use it because honey quickly goes bad whenever it is mixed with other ingredients.

Detangler

This detangler works well and is a money-saving venture.

You will need:

•             1 cup of distilled water

•             2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel

•             5 drops of glycerine

Instructions

Put all the ingredients in a bottle and shake thoroughly until they are all blended. Use a shampoo bottle so that it is easy to squeeze out the content. Squeeze the mixture into your hands and work it through your hair using your fingertips. You can then detangle your hair. Do not rinse it out, but style your hair as usual. If your mixture does not offer the slip that you desire to detangle your hair, add a little more glycerin.

Moisturising conditioner

This one is easiest of them all.

You will need:

•             ¼ cup of aloe vera gel

•             ¼ cup of coconut oil (warmed), olive oil can also be used

Instructions

Blend the mixture using any format and apply it on your hair as you would any other hair conditioner. If your mixture emits a foul smell, add a few drops of your favourite hair oil.
