They say we should dress according to our moods, but if that were the case then most of us would dress in sweatpants and shirts every day.

As that is not an option most of us apply the mantra fake it till you make it for our outfits to give us the strength we need to make it through each day.

And this is where dopamine dressing comes in. It is not about your feelings dictating your outfit of the day but rather your outfits taking the centre stage and lifting your moods.

Instead of a dull suit, why not customise a coloured one this year and watch it do wonders for you (Photo: Pinterest)

What is dopamine dressing?

It is a way of dressing that instills joy through dressing in bright and bold colours. Brighter colours are more likely to make your skin pop and keep people noticing you.

And nothing makes a lady feel more confident and happy than being told ‘you look nice today’. That being said here are some inspirations on how you can add some colour to your outfits this year:

Jeans are comfortable and a go to every day look, why not spice it up with a little colour blocking for that extra dopamine touch (Photo: Pinterest)
Your little dress doesn't always have to be black, right? (Photo: Pinterest)
Even your accessories can make a greater impression than a well thought outfit (Photo: Pinterest)
Same shade colours can give your whole look an amazing outcome if you give it a chance (Photo: Pinterest)
They dont all have to be bold, pastel tones can still play a role in dopamine dressing if done well (Photo: Pinterest)
