Former Glee star Naya Rivera’s son has spoken up giving previously unknown details on the actress’s death.

On speaking to investigators, the four-year-old said that his mother, Rivera, had called out for help.

According to the investigative report, the two had rented a boat on Lake Piru. Rivera and her son then proceeded to jump into the lake to swim. However, just before calling out for help, Rivera helped her son get back into the boat before putting her arms in the air seeking aid before she went under water.

Rivera, who went missing in July was found after a six-day search. An autopsy revealed that her death was as a result of an accident. Before the incident, Rivera had suffered from a sinus infection for which she had received treatment. She had also experienced vertigo which worsened when she was in the water.

When she rented the boat, Rivera declined the life jacket offered her by the rental company, the investigative report said, but the employee insisted on giving her one. When she failed to return the boat on time, the employee went in search of her finding her son asleep in the boat, wearing a life jacket and wrapped in a towel. However, when she was found, she wasn’t wearing it when she was found.

The report also stated that Rivera was a good swimmer and familiar with the lake.
