Going on a blind date can be nerve-racking, so many people opt for double dates so they can take a pal along for support.

But would you ever go on a double date with your mum?

This woman did, and it ended being awkward - but not for the reasons she first feared.

She shared her unbelievable story with Erika McCall and Niesha Forbes for their new book, All Good Just A Week To Go.

The evening was going really well, until they noticed what her date did with the tip the group had left for the waiting staff.

Here's her story...

It was already kind of awkward when I went on a double date with my mum. But what the heck, I figured it would also be fun.

These are the types of moments that you just can't recreate.

You will leave with a great story or fond memory.

From what I remember, the date went well.

My mum and I looked good. We were both dressed to impress our nice-looking dates.

The ambiance was refreshing. The food was delicious, and we had great conversations with lots of laughter.

We had such a lovely evening, and I looked forward to doing it again. My mum's date offered to pick up the tab, and my mum insisted on leaving a tip.

My date was very appreciative and offered to pay the next time we went out.

As our time together came to an end and we were leaving the restaurant, my date said he needed to use the restroom.

We told him that we would wait outside for him. As we were waiting outside, we could still see inside the restaurant.

My date didn't stay behind to use the bathroom.

We watched him go to the table we had been seated at.

He took the tip my mom left for our server. LIKE REALLY?

I was so embarrassed, and he had the nerve to walk out as if nothing happened.

He never got to pay for the next date because THERE WAS NOT ONE.
