Since the outbreak of COVID-19, many households have been forced to drastically change their routines as some are been forced to work from home.

Unlike the usual days when couples would see each other after work or exclusively on weekends, with the current situation, they are forced to see each other all day and night.

Some couples are finding it hard to cope as they are not used to spending so much time around their partners.

You can remedy this by getting more intimate with your partner as a way to curb the long nights and days you have to spend together.

Here are some of the importance of intimacy during this quarantine period:

Bonds couples

Getting intimate has a way of bringing partners together. During love making the hormone oxytocin (the feel good hormone) is released which reduces stress levels and increases trust amongst couples.

When couples have an easy time bonding with each other, they learn to appreciate one another more.

After love making, couples also engage in pillow talk that can help their relationship grow. They get to communicate more intimately with one another.

Do not forget that afterglow for ladies.

Reduces stress levels

With most people worried about when this pandemic and when it will end, these kinds of stresses can magnify and make couples vent their frustrations on each other unknowingly.

However, when couples make intimacy part of their lives, this helps relieve stress by boosting the levels of hormones like endorphins that in return boost their moods.

As a form of exercise, getting intimate with your partner can also help you calm down. Sex can also reduce and prevent the increase of blood pressure during stressful events.

Reduces the risk of heart disease

Intimacy offers more than just a feeling of pleasure, it also has some health benefits to it.

Considering the physical activity involved during intimacy, couples who get intimate often are less likely to suffer from heart attack. It helps you exercise and strengthen your heart. Intimacy is likened to working out.

In other cases, getting intimate can relieve headaches and it can also help one have a good night’s rest.

Passes time

Since you are stuck in the house together, you can as well pass some time by getting intimate.

You can experiment new ideas you have been too busy to try out with your partner. You can also discuss the future prospects with your partner, talk about a family and how many children you would love to have or maybe baby names.

Some of these conversations do not get enough airtime because both of you are so busy at work on normal days.
