Girl code: Men in their 30s who refuse to grow up

Living

Just where do some men get energy to eat and eat well in houses whose bills they know nothing about? I have been giving all these men in their early 30s a keen eye and they’ve never even realised it.

There’s just something about them that isn’t right. I am yet to put a finger on it though because some of these big boys act so comfortable where comfort should be an abomination. No wonder most of them are afraid of commitment and all they want is to have fun because some motivational speaker said life begins at 40. I will be sitting right here waiting to see the look on their faces once they hit 40 with nothing to their names.

On the other hand, the men in their mid-thirties are taking the bull by its horns and nothing is stopping them. They are setting goals and achieving them while starting peaceful families. It’s like all of a sudden the younger men are taking control and those in their early thirties lose direction. This is the reason you will find them always getting caught up in one case after another.

If they are not being accused of fraud, they are being reminded about their duties as parents, or better still, they are being shown the door after turning other people’s houses into camping sites where they camp for free. The only thing they offer and offer to their level best is that one thing that got Adam and Eve sent packing from the Garden of Eden. I mean if God gave it to us for free, what would make one think that it can be counted as a provision to be put on the table when it comes to paying bills?

Have a close look at the men in their 30s around you and tell me if they don’t act suspicious. By the way, they always look like they’re up to something even when they probably aren’t. It’s all because of the kind of lifestyle they live. It’s even annoying that it becomes worse as they grow older. At some point, I thought that their hitting 30 would be a wake-up call but, no, I was wrong. Maybe they will wake up and smell the coffee when they are celebrating their ‘golden jubilee’ on this planet. I would like to be alive to see how much most of them will run around trying to put things in order.

Like I said, their younger counterparts in their 20s are coming up fast and focused, ending up grabbing women ideally supposed to be married by men in their thirties. Women are attracted to focused men. Women no longer consider your height, complexion and appearance but what you have in that head being supported by your neck. That same neck that carries the throat that swallows food in hardworking single women’s houses without blinking an eye. Food you did not buy.

By the way, these men don’t get full easily. They will even have two plates of expensive food in a restaurant yet they aren’t the ones paying. You should see them driving other people’s cars with their elbows popping out the driver’s seat as they inspect stuff being sold in traffic as if they can even buy them. All they do is harass the hawkers, asking one question after another about the stuff. But deep down in their hearts, they want traffic to flow so that they can speed away because they don’t have a single coin in their pockets.

Actually, they do have money in their name, they just don’t have ambition. They are on free gear, wherever the wind takes them, they will go without a murmur. One thing they have never realised is that the wind of progress never blows your way; you have to chase and catch it if you can.

I wish all men in their 30s still slaying these streets would borrow a leaf or two from the hard working ones in their 20s. Don’t wait for these young men to build happy families then you come and confuse their wives with your six pack.
