Many moments in our lives are lost because our minds are elsewhere. You could be having a conversation and your mind wanders off so you don’t absorb what you’re being told, or sitting at a beach with your head buried in your phone so you miss the beauty of the scenery.
It is important, however, to learn to live in the present, so as not to let our lives pass us by.
· Eliminate physical distractions by switching off electronics
· Make eye contact when having a conversation, ask questions and be attentive
· Take a mental picture of scenery you like, focusing on colours and shapes, sounds and smells
· Keep a diary and note down thoughts, experiences and conversations that resonate with you
· Take five minutes each morning before you get up to meditate, focusing your mind and setting you up for the day ahead.
