The Easter Holidays are here, and everyone is looking to have fun. It’s been about two weeks of bored children idling in front of you since schools closed, it is time to make the best of this break. While many kids find happiness in playing with their peers on the rooftop, playing video games or watching TV, there is nothing that beats an excellent family day out. Well, Easter is here, why not get out and make those memories, step out of the humdrum of daily life?

Egg Hunting

You need to bring out the laughter in your house and get a glimpse of the competitive side of your kids? There’s no better way than to hold an Easter egg hunt, whether indoors or outdoors. Egg hunting is the classic Easter activity for kids. You can always seek tips on simple egg hunt ideas, but you can also come up with your own. Come to think of it; egg hunting is also a cheap way of creating your own memorable Easter entertainment.

Preparing a meal

You are always fighting with your kids to step out of the kitchen especially for fear of them causing accidents or harming themselves. You can loosen up a bit this Easter. Why not invite them to the kitchen to help you with the grating and mixing of the ingredients? Spending time at home with your kids in the kitchen preparing a family feast is not only economical but also a friendly way of having your kids engaged.

Visit the Museum, National Archives

It is Easter, and you are probably wondering how you are going to spend your time together as a family. This Easter, why not make some time to check out the Nairobi National Museum. Or, why not pop along to the National Archives in the CBD? Have you ever been there? Waiting for the right moment to visit these places may never present itself. You can take advantage of your Easter holiday to enjoy art and get to understand some heritage.

Attend free kids Easter festivals

There are Easter festivals for kids going down this Easter weekend at various corners of the city. All you need to do is find one and take your youngins there for some ‘letting loose.’ Do not overthink it; you can start with your local church. Take your kids for a church Easter ceremony- allow them to mingle and make friends as well as get some spiritual nourishment.

Watching TV shows and movies

Creating fond memories does not always have to be about leaving the house. Your kids love the tele, why not join them and have some awesome moment. You can come together and enjoy some exciting Easter TV shows; there are also some Easter movies premiering.
