Rose water has been used since time immemorial to treat a variety of conditions and in skincare. Rose petals are distilled with steam to make rose water and it has a myriad of uses. 

1. Soothes sore throats

Have you ever suffered through  the discomfort of sore throat? Instead of pumping your system with antibiotics, try rose water. Traditionally, rose water has been used to soothe sore throats. All you need is to gaggle some and you’ll feel some relief. 

2. It soothes skin irritation

Due to its strong anti-inflammatory properties, rosewater treats both internal and external ailments. When it comes to skin-based ailments, you can use it to soothe the irritation of eczema or rosacea.

Due to the antibacterial properties of rose water, it may help reduce acne. The anti-inflammatory properties it possesses can reduce skin redness and its calming effect can help to relieve your skin of sores.

In traditional medicine,  rose water was used in eye drops to treat conjunctivitis cases. This is because of its antiseptic and analgesic properties which helped treat such eye conditions.

Rose water can help cuts, burns, and even scars heal faster. Spraying these wounds with rose water can help prevent infection and sepsis thanks to rose water’s antiseptic properties.

5. Has anti-aging properties

Rose water soothes irritated skin and it can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles when applied topically.

6. Relieves headaches

If you are struck by a headache, look no further than rose water aromatherapy. The vapor of rose water can soothe headaches. You can also place a compress soaked in rose water on your head for 45 minutes as you rest.

Make rose water tea or add rose water to foods such as rice. It’s anti oxidising properties will help protect your cells from damage
