Beyoncé gives fans glimpse of rarely seen twins Rumi and Sir in new visual album

Beyoncé has unveiled rare snaps of her twin children Rumi and Sir, three, in footage shot for her new visual album. On Friday the hitmaker, 38, released her highly anticipated album Black Is King on Disney+ and she allowed her fans to catch a glimpse of her two tiny tots. The Single Ladies hitmaker, 38, who keeps her family life with rapper husband Jay-Z, 49, extremely private, revealed her little boy and girl in two separate moments.

Sir - who the multiple Grammy winner dedicated the album to - was shown in a sweet snap where the singer could be seen cuddling him under a message that read: “Dedicated to my son, Sir Carter. And to all our sons and daughters. The sun and the moonbow for you. You are the keys to the kingdom." Rumi appeared in the film alongside her sister Blue-Ivy - who is often seen at red carpet events with her famous parents - alongside Beyoncé and her mum Tina Knowles-Lawson. The beautiful image showed the foursome posed in matching floral ensembles. Beyoncé's role as a mother is her top priority and she opened up on her relationship with her children in her documentary Beyoncé Presents: Making The Gift.

In the film, that was shown in the US on ABC, the singer told cameras: "When you're a mother, there's a love that you experience with your kids that's deeper than anything you can imagine. The love is beyond Earth and beyond time and space, and it's a connection that will be constant." Black Is King comes from a group of directors: Emmanuel Adjei, Blitz Bazawule, Ibra Ake, Jenn Nkiru, Jake Nava, Pierre Debusschere, Dikayl Rimmasch, and - of course - Beyonce herself. Songs included on the album include My Power, Mood 4 Eva, Brown Skin Girl, and her recent single Black Parade, which she released for the American holiday Juneteenth on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the US.

Beyonce announced the album on June 29 and posted a video and statement on Instagram. Queen Bey wrote: "Happy Sunday! I typically keep comments short and sweet, but I just watched the trailer with my family and I’m excited. Please don’t get me hype... “Black Is King” is a labour of love. It is my passion project that I have been filming, researching and editing day and night for the past year. "I’ve given it my all and now it’s yours. It was originally filmed as a companion piece to “The Lion King: The Gift” soundtrack and meant to celebrate the breadth and beauty of Black ancestry. I could never have imagined that a year later, all the hard work that went into this production would serve a greater purpose."

She continued: "The events of 2020 have made the film’s vision and message even more relevant, as people across the world embark on a historic journey. We are all in search of safety and light. Many of us want change. I believe that when Black people tell our own stories, we can shift the axis of the world and tell our REAL history of generational wealth and richness of soul that are not told in our history books. With this visual album, I wanted to present elements of Black history and African tradition, with a modern twist and a universal message, and what it truly means to find your self-identity and build a legacy. I spent a lot of time exploring and absorbing the lessons of past generations and the rich history of different African customs. While working on this film, there were moments where I’ve felt overwhelmed, like many others on my creative team, but it was important to create a film that instils pride and knowledge. I only hope that from watching, you leave feeling inspired to continue building a legacy that impacts the world in an immeasurable way. I pray that everyone sees the beauty and resilience of our people. This is a story of how the people left MOST BROKEN have EXTRAORDINARY gifts."
