Pimo Pass gi Ruler plus Grit" philosophy is at work and we are amassing the points and we are on course to winning the league.
We have chalked up three wins, one draw and one loss out of a possible five wins and we are still perched majestically at the top of the table. Well, that was expected as we are K'Ogalo and we are determined to fulfil our rallying cry this season, 'Gini waduoko dala" - the Cup is coming back home.
We are now looking in the rear-view mirror and we can see Ulinzi, the early pretenders, our Shemejis AFC Leopards are sadly further behind.
Wait, the uproar that came from the Den when Ingwe were on top, albeit briefly, has since gone mute. Yes, that noise that almost had the Nema brigade issue some warning notices... It's thankfully now quieter!
It is still early in the season, but men are beginning to be separated from boys and to add, women from girls! It seems the "sleeping giant" AFC is still in slumber-land as their league title chances ebb away with every match. We at Dala K'Ogalo want them close to us because it makes the league more interesting and emotionally competitive.
There are two things about change- either it is constant or it is a constant! It does not matter whether you do it quietly or not. You change or it changes you! At K'Ogalo, since 1968, we have learnt to embrace change and we are the wiser for it and have the results to show; be it tittles, trophies, number of supporters, revenues, sponsorship, the passion...it is close to none.
We have seen strange things this season, however. Fans, what did we see during our match against Western Stima in Kisumu the other day? Balls were hitting the woodwork in rapid succession, clear chances going to nought. Is it for real, that a ground can be "fixed"? I doubt.
Coach Ze Maria and his technical bench are almost getting their first 11 right. With a bit of permutations on the best formation that works with our "pimo pass gi ruler plus grit" football philosophy, we are almost there.
At the moment, Medi Kagere is playing both the attacking and provider roles effectively; the coach is beginning to get the best out of him. The midfield Marshall role, the man to break the opponents' passes and provide cover for the defence...that has been occasionally underwhelming since the indefatigable Gattuso was relegated to the bench. But that spot seems to be getting an occupant as Ernest Wendo is getting reinvigorated.
And to those chasing us for the tittle, beware! know that even though we are winning, the system is still not perfectly well oiled.
We are aiming for more.
