how lecturers' strike has affected students' programes

The ongoing strike by lecturers in all the public universities is, by no doubt, going to negatively affect the students' long holiday arrangements. Already many students have evacuated campuses and probably headed to their homes after learning was put on halt.

A good example is Kenyatta University, where students on regular programmes who are supposed to complete their learning by April, have called it quits. The overly crowded hostels and pathways are now deserted with few students loitering by.

If the strike continuous, learning periods will be extended(when it ends) and a majority of students who have to ''hustle'' for school fees come September, will be badly affected.This is because many of them are used to the idea of that four-month long holiday during which they can comfortably secure jobs.

Even if the dons were to resume their duties today, periods will have to be cut into in a bid to give lecturers enough time to complete the teaching program
