Jubilee party and Azimio coalition blogger Pauline Njoroge has been arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

According to lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, the blogger was arrested in Watamu, Kilifi County.

The blogger has been critical of President William Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza regime for the policies.

Azimio co-principal Martha Karua called for the release of the blogger.

She quoted Njiru’s tweet tagging the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, the National Police Service, and the Independent Policing Oversight Authority.

She also tagged lobby groups Amnesty International and Kenya National Commission on Human Rights as well as the United Nations and Africa Union Political Party Affairs.

Njoroge is a close ally of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and in the run-up to the 2022 general elections, she led bloggers in drumming up support for Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

She recently claimed that some unnamed people in the government approached her to switch sides and even offered to pay her Sh500,000 per month.
