Kenya's tennis sensation Angela Okutoyi is out of the Roland Garros (French Open Juniors) Singles Girls.

Okutoyi was on Monday evening beaten in straight sets by Croatian Petra Marcinko (6-2, 6-4) in around two-match staged at the Stade Roland Garros in France.

The former African Junior Champion could not go past the Australian Open Juniors champion and World top-seeded junior Marcinko who dominated the two sets.

Okutoyi, the 2021 Africa Under-18 champion, who occupies position 66 on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior rankings, has now 46 matches and registered 82 wins.

Okutoyi, who made history by reaching the third round of the Australian Open Juniors in January this year, started her Roland Garros campaign by stunning Belgian Amelie Van Impe 7-6(6), 6-4 in the first round on Sunday.

Okutoyi defeated 17-year-old Amelie Van Impe from Belgium 7-6, 6-4 in the round of 64 to progress to the second round.

After winning the first set through a tie break with the game tied at 6-6, the African tennis sensation saw off Van Impe 6-4 in the second set to progress.

Okutoyi will now shift her focus on preparing for another junior grand slam tournament in Wimbledon, the UK in July.
