Man, 45, killed in Ol Kalou town

A 45-year-old man was on Wednesday killed in Ol Kalou town under mysterious circumstances.

The man identified as Njoroge Wamai was allegedly lured into a maize plantation near Jua Kali estate on Tuesday evening.

Moments later, he came from the maize plantation bleeding profusely with head injuries.

Confirming the incident, Nyandarua Central Sub-County Police Commander Abdullahi Dahir said two women reported that Wamai had appeared from the maize field bleeding and calling for help.

“We immediately moved to the scene where we found him lying unconscious. We rushed him to JM Kariuki Memorial hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” he said.

Dahir noted that police have since launched a man hunt for the attackers as the motive behind his death was not immediately established.

“The maize plantation looks like a hiding place for criminals. We have deployed our officers on the ground to search for the attackers,” he said.

The body was moved to the same hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile, a 13-year-old girl has committed suicide at Kaimbaga village within Ol Kalou.

Jemimah Njeri’s body was discovered hanging from the roof of their house on Wednesday morning.

Police boss Abdullahi Dahir said that she had allegedly quarreled with her mother after she denied her to accompany her to Ol Kalou town where she sells tree seedlings.

“The mother left for the town and it was moments later that her body was found dangling from the roof of their house by a relative,” he said.

The deceased was a class six pupil at Captain Primary School.
