Actress Elizabeth Lulu Michaels, who was dating Steven Kanumba was jailed for two years after being found guilty of killing him in 2012. The High Court in Dar es Salaam found Lulu guilty of murder after she fatally pushed Kanumba against a wall. On the fateful day, the two reportedly argued after she picked a call from an unidentified man.

The altercation over the call escalated, upon which the deceased was said to have been pushed against the wall and died.

Lulu appealed the sentence and was released in less than a year; she was allowed to serve the remaining term as community service.
