DCI sleuths on the hunt for ‘private investigator’ Jane Mugo

**Wanted by the DCI: Jane Wawira Mugo.**

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched a hunt for "private detective" Jane Mugo.

According to the DCI, Jane Wawira Mugo is wanted for various criminal activities including robbery with violence, impersonation and threatening to kill.

The DCI has secured a warrant of arrest from Milimani Law Courts with express orders to arrest the suspect on sight.

Jane Mugo is alleged to be masquerading as a private investigator and Chief Executive officer for Trimo Security Limited.

Accusations

The DCI has detailed some of the offences Ms Mugo is accused of committing.

“On 15th August 2019, Ms Jane Wawira Mugo while at New Muthaiga Este (sic) drew a Pistol and threatened to KILL a man on allegations that he was spying for a relative of the Director in a Company where she was the Private Investigator,” reads a tweet by the DCI.

In 2015, she was accused and charged with detaining a man for hours after forcing him to pay Sh440,000 to her.

Still, in 2015, she was accused of impersonating a person employed in the public service. She stormed the office of the victim’s lawyer (the detained man’s lawyer) introducing herself as a police officer. She then searched the house and created a disturbance.

Mugo is further accused of abducting a Nairobi based businessman and locking him up in her office at Baba Dogo. She forced him to pay a debt of Sh400,000. She was again charged with abduction, personation and creating disturbance. All cases were however withdrawn under Section 204 of the Penal Code.

According to the DCI, on December 12, 2016, her employees: Isaac Ndirangu, Noreen Malala and Michael Gita robbed a man of Sh90,000 which he had withdrawn from a bank. They are said to have introduced themselves as police officers- carrying a radio phone, handcuffs and a pistol. They were charged with robbery.
