Zimbabwean legendary singer Oliver Mtukudzi dies at 66

Zimbabwean pop singer Oliver Mtukudzi is dead. According to South African media outlet the Times Live, Todii hit song singer died on Wednesday afternoon though more details pertaining to his death are still scanty.

The Times Live further reveal that the news of the death of Mtukudzi was broken by Gallo Records, a label associated with him. It further states that his family had promised to provide more details about his death today afternoon.

 

 

However, according to another media outlet, the Mirror Masvingo, the singer died at around noon while admitted to ICU in a Harare hospital. Their tweet reads:

Mtukudzi is known to the Kenyan pop music lovers with a hit song Twende Twende, in which the 66-year old featured Kenya’s KORA Award winner Eric Wainaina.
