Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Mataingi has called on politicians to shun activities that could polarise the country.

Speaking at Nyabururu National School, the CS said peace was paramount as the country awaits the Supreme Court ruling tomorrow.

“Kenyans should not engage in activities that can injure stability of the country. This is a peaceful country that should not go to the drain,” said Matiangi.

He was referring to chaos that rocked Nairobi on Friday after police clashed with supporters of Nasa leader Raila Odinga on Friday. Trouble started after police blocked Raila’s supporters from welcoming him on his return from a 10-day visit to the US and Europe.

Raila has since blamed the Jubilee administration for the bloody confrontations.

The CS told politicians to restrain their supporters to avoid confrontations with the police.
