Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) won football, basketball, volleyball men titles at the Kenya Communications Sports Organisation (Kecoso) games in Kisumu yesterday.

KPA defended the men's basketball title after edging out Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) 56-50 in the finals.

They staged a good show, winning 14-11 in the first quarter, losing 12-21 in the second quarter then recovered to beat  their challengers 18-06 in the third quarter. KCAA’s efforts bore no fruits as they settled 12-12 in the last and final quarters.

In football, the dockers also humbled Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) 5-4 in a controversial match that saw KMA awarded three penalties.

The highly charged match saw KMA’s Bernard Ouma and Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts (MOSCA) goal keeper Evans Adache red-carded for misconduct.

MOSCA drew the first blood in the fourth minute through William Odero before Aslam Sajad scored again in the 21st minute but David Omiya pulled one back in the 24th through a penalty. Odero scored again for MOSCA to give them a 3-1 lead at the break.

In the second half, Mwachabe Mwinyi scored in the 55th minute for KMA and Olesu Tetien scored in the 65th for MOSCA.
Omiya netted a controversial penalty in the 70th minute to make the score 4-3 before Bernard Ouma added the fourth for KMA two minutes later as Omiya scored a brace to seal a 5-4 victory.
Bandari men ran away with the volleyball title after beating Kenya Maritime Authority 3-0. They won straight sets in 25-22, 25-17 and 25-16.
