Embu police hunt for wife after husband killed

Police in Embu are hunting for the wife of a headteacher who was murdered on Monday evening.

The police is treating her as a suspect following the brutal murder of Patrick Njeru, 48, who was attacked by unknown assailants at the gate of his house in Muthatari area.

The attackers hit him with a blunt object on the head but did not take anything from him. Njeru was headteacher of Riaguu Primary School.

 Embu West DCIO George Etyang' said the woman's whereabouts are unknown.

"We need her to assist us with investigations that will help us find the teacher's killers and their motives. We are also exploring other leads but are yet to make arrests," he said.
