Efforts to block the implementation of President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive to allocate over 1,000 hectares of land to Isahakia Self-Help group suffered a blow.

Environment and Lands Court judge Dalmas Ohungo declined to issue orders preventing the allotment of the land in Naivasha.

Activist Okiya Omtata moved to court under a certificate of urgency in February 2017 seeking its intervention to suspend implementation of the President's directive.

Justice Ohungo instead slated the mater for April 21, 2017 when it will be mentioned.
