Indians are very loud and aggressive in their conversations

Now, this is absolutely not related to how we speak English.

But it does explain why our English accents are so “rich” if that is the right word to describe it.

Our mother tongue is rather dramatic, that is why the emphasis on words and phrases comes out when we speak other languages other than our own.

Now, I never realized this fact because Indian languages have always come naturally to me.

Recently, walking within the campus in a rather ‘okay’ mood with my friend, we heard someone conversing in his mother tongue over the phone.

We both burst out into silent giggles.

The guy was talking so aggressively and loudly that it was almost impossible not to laugh at his reaction, especially considering what he was wearing and how he dramatically gestured with his hands in the air.

It took me a few minutes as we got close, to realise that he was in fact speaking in Gujarati!

My friend asked me if that is how we Indians actually speak.

I wondered, trying to cover up with the fact that I personally speak in a very calm and collected manner.

Actually, we all are kinda aggressive with our words when speaking in our mother tongues, a fact that became very obvious when I decided to watch my family in the heat of conversations.
