Leader vows to ensure JAP wins Coast voters

A former Wiper party member and chairman of the defunct Hotels and Restaurant Authority Philip Ndolo, has urged JAP supporters to ensure it becomes a formidable outfit come the next General Election.

He told The Standard on Saturday that he will team up with like-minded JAP politicians in Mombasa to win over ODM supporters.

"We should not be dismissed. We are coming up with a winning team and we are consolidating support right from the grassroot. We believe this is where the real voters are," Mr Ndolo, who lost the Changamwe parliamentary seat to ODM's Omar Mwinyi in the last General Election said.

The former Wiper member, Mombasa tycoon Suleiman Shahbal and former ODM national organising secretary Ramadhan Seif Kajembe recently defected to JAP. He said he will work closely with TNA leaders in Mombasa to come up with a winning team.

"We know the task ahead is not easy but with a united front, we can deliver," he said.

Ndolo said he ditched Wiper party after realising it lacked vision and direction, and was playing second fiddle to ODM in the CORD coalition.

He clarified that he will not be seeking a political seat as he has retired from active politics.
