Court hears failed Wi-Fi project suit

Nakuru, Kenya: The Nakuru government has distanced itself from a flopped free Wi-Fi project.

Through written submissions filed at the Nakuru High Court last week before Justice Abigael Mshila, the county denied participatory cost in the failed project.

"Wi-Fi provision was an exclusive national endeavour by the Jubilee administration and it went ahead and rolled out the project without any fiscal participation of Nakuru County," reads the submission filed by lawyer Collins Odundo.

This was in response to a petition filed in June by three petitioners accusing the county and State House Digital team of failing to provide a breakdown of how the Sh300 million, used in the unsuccessful project, was used.
