Former deputy solicitor general found dead in Nairobi house

NAIROBI, KENYA: Mystery surrounds an incident in which a former deputy Solicitor General William Akitch Okolla was found dead in his house in Nairobi's Kileleshwa area.

His lifeless body was discovered by the caretaker on Monday at Palm Springs apartments, police said.

Homicide detectives are probing the death of the former career civil servant who at the time of his death had retired.

However, it is alleged the deceased was suffering from hypertension. Police said they are yet to know the cause of the death.

Nairobi police boss Benson Kibue said the body has no visible physical injuries but they recovered assorted medicinal drugs beside the bed of the deceased.

"We have to wait for the postmortem report to show what caused the death," said Kibue.

Meanwhile, two night guards were Monday night seriously injured after being attacked by suspected thugs at a residential compound in Runda area, Nairobi.
