Floyd Mayweather splashes cash in New York

Floyd Mayweather continued to live up to his 'Money' nickname by splashing the cash on jewellery in New York.

The former world champion boxer was snapped with his entourage in midtown Manhattan before entering some of the most expensive jewellers in the city.

Dressed in an army camouflage polo shirt and black pants, Mayweather strutted around the streets of New York appearing relaxed and in a jovial mood.

His large contingent ensured that members of the public could not get near to him.

Mayweather's entourage were kitted out in some of his branded clothing, including TMT (The Money Team) hates and TBE (The Best Ever) t-shirts.

The trip to New York comes after Cristiano Ronaldo knocked Mayweather off the top spot of the Forbes highest-paid athletes list.

The Real Madrid star became the first footballer to do so after raking in a whopping £60million last year.

Ronaldo, 31, earned £38.4 million from salary and £21.6 million from endorsements to take him to the number one spot.

The retirement of Mayweather from boxing left a vacancy at the top for the Portuguese sportsman to fill.
