Manchester United legend hails his son after Leicester's title success

Peter Schmeichel has hailed Leicester City 's success after his son Kasper helped them clinch the title.

The legendary keeper took to Twitter after Claudio Ranieri's men were confirmed as Premier League champions on Monday night, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Schmeichel won the title several times during his time at Manchester United and watched his son join him in the elite club.

The big Dane took to Twitter after the final whistle and tweeted saying that ‘proud does not cover it’ and that he couldn’t ‘find the right words’ to describe how he was feeling.

There was also a bit of coincidence about Monday's title success as Schmeichel Snr explained on Twitter.

He wrote: “May 2nd 1993 I am 29 yrs old, we didn't play but won @premierleague because our rivals didn't win.”

This was followed up with: “May 2nd 2016 @kschmeichel1 29 yrs of age, and @LCFC didn't play but they also won @premierleague because @SpursOfficial didn't win!”
