Former girls hockey national champions Sinyolo of Lake Region will be out to settle scores with Mau champions Kapkolei in their second pool A match today.

Sinyolo will be on a revenge mission against the Nandi County students who bundled them out of the 2014 contest which saw them relinquish the national title they had won in 2013.

Kapkolei won 2-0 in the semis ending their rule at the helm of schools hockey. Sinyolo coach Alloise Owino told Feverpitch they will not accept a second defeat that easily.
“We can’t allow ourselves to lose to them twice. A win in this match is very important to us and we will settle for nothing less than maximum points,’’ Owino said.

His Kapkolei counterpart Moses Koech wants a repeat of the 2014 match. Koech said he will capitalise on Sinyolo’s weaknesses to snatch the victory. “I have watched them play and I know their strengths and weaknesses and we will use their shortcomings to overpower them,” he said.

In another girls pool A match, 2014 champions St John’s Kaloleni take on Nzoia title holders Tigoi.

Pool B will see Moi Nairobi play three-time champions Misikhu.

In the boys contest hosts, Friends School Kamusinga play Ndurumo whereas champions Narok take on Maseno in pool A. St Anthony’s tackle Meru of Highlands as Upper Hill engage St Charles Lwanga of Coast Region.
