Gor-AFC derby: Keep off Nyayo Stadium jujumen told

“Nobody will be allowed to sleep in the Nyayo Stadium or access the venue on the day before the Mashemeji derby, those were the words of Nyayo Stadium Manager Maurice Nyaoke.

The use of black magic has dogged the sworn enemies for ages, and as on-form Gor Mahia host AFC Leopards on Sunday, both clubs have been warned against using the ‘informal’ entries.

“We don’t understand why people sleep around the stadium before the match. Most of them have the conviction that they must be in the stadium, but we have told both teams that the juju aspect can’t work in the modern football,” Nyaoke told Feverpitch.

“It looks a bit of belief than the actual thing. But for us as the facility owners, we appeal to people to use the formal ways. We have marked gates and access for both the teams and the fans, so let everybody access the stadium using the right entrance.

“We have tried to seal all the loopholes and it is our hope that no juju will be planted before the derby. We have deployed security officers to man the stadium on Saturday night and if we find anybody who has accessed the venue without our consent will be arrested.

“We might assume he is bringing a juju and in the mix of things he is working for a terror group. Therefore no idling and any kind of misbehaviors will be allowed. Gates will be officially opened on Sunday morning at 7am,” concluded Nyaoke.
