Kenyatta University retain varsity games title

Kenyatta University (KU) successfully retained top position in the Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) women championships played at Africa Nazarene University last weekend.

The event, in its fourth edition, saw KU dominate in handball after they defeated Masinde Muliro University in the finals. Egerton won bronze.

KU used their national league experience to win their fourth handball title, before they landed another gold in swimming ahead of University of Nairobi (UoN) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

KU were not through with their opponents just yet as they won the table tennis title ahead of Strathmore and Daystar Universities. In athletics, they conquered, again, to leave Moi University and UoN to contend with second and third positions.

University volleyball heavyweights St Paul’s University then deflated KU’s ego in the final, before UoN took the tennis title.

Masinde Muliro University won gold in netball, while KU and JKUAT finished second and third.

Egerton were declared winners in karate.
