Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko was the subject of social media debate after hosting two beautiful Eritrean women in his office.
The flamboyant senator posted on Facebook photos of himself flanked by the two women on February 1.
In one of the photos, the senator is seen sandwiched between the women. In yet another photo, the three are seated facing the camera, with Sonko behind his desk.
The posts came barely a week after alleged doubtful Somalia-based website posted a story claiming that the Eritrean government had directed all men in Eritrea to marry at least two women or face jail term.
“I thought this Eritrea trend was a joke until I got a courtesy call from two ladies from Eritrea. I was a bit confused whether niwarescue ama itakua? Wangekuwa wakenya, making a decision would have been much easier because bado ingekuwa kura... nani ana form nifanye connections?” The senator captioned one of the photos.
Tens of Nairobians questioned whether it was a joke or if the senator had really grabbed the two women for real or had just pulled a joke by posing with local women in his office.
The Nairobian reached the senator to shed light on the two women and he explained in a lengthy text, “I always like interacting and mingling with my fans on my Facebook page. It’s not a big deal but normal part of life”.
