As the cancer awareness month comes to a close, some celebrities have been doing everything possible to ensure their fans learn as much as they could in regards to breast cancer.
Radio personality Kalekye Mumo was working on an upcoming comedy dubbed “fundi-mentals” and in the process, she decided to raise awareness about cancer.
To do this, Kalekye and her fellow actresses stripped their tops and covered their “twins” in pink helmets.
A cause that started off on a positive note received backlash from social media fans who felt they were role models and the photos might have been “too much”.
In response to the “haters” who didn’t take time to understand her intentions, Kalekye encouraged her fans to stand for what they believed, saying:
“Apparently it isn’t going down well with some, because I have an image to uphold and as much as it’s for a good cause this is not it. To defend her actions, Kalekye further emphasized:
“What will I feel when I know most of my fans suffer from the disease because me and my image didn’t inform them? I am a person of influence so why not influence those who hold my image so high to get tested?”
