Vision 2030 Secretariat reaches out to counties

The Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat has commenced countrywide consultative workshops with county governments to increase participation. The Secretariat, which is mandated to establish strategic linkages that contribute to the development of the country, has established partnerships with counties through signing of MoUs. As part of the engagement, the Secretariat is working with Turkana, Uasin Gishu and Laikipia counties through forums with the County Executives. “It will be a platform to share the status of projects, lessons learnt in the implementation, challenges encountered in the implementation and possible areas of intervention by Vision 2030 Secretariat,’’ said Prof Gituro Wainaina, acting director general Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat. Each of the 47 counties plays host to Vision 2030 flagship projects especially in infrastructure, and cross-cutting social pillar projects such as health, education and public sector reforms. In the 2016-17 financial year, Sh302 billion had been allocated to the 47 counties.
