Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has warned of a “political dry spell” in Ukambani should he fail to clinch the presidency in next year’s General Election.

The CORD co-principal said it is now or never for a son of the community to ascend to the presidency as they had waited long enough. “It will take the Kamba community some 50 years or more for one of their own to ascend to the presidency if we miss the opportunity this time round,” he said.

Speaking at Mathuki market, Mwingi Central constituency in his Kitui County turf on Thursday, the former Vice President said he will fight for the CORD ticket against his co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetang’ula.

“I have all it takes to grab the presidency. I have no doubt in my mind about my ability to move this country to the next level,” Kalonzo said.

Kitui Governor Julius Malombe and Senator David Musila asked the community to rally behind the former Vice President.

Kalonzo will today meet Wiper supporters in Mombasa to mobilise them to join Opposition campaigns to kick out Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners at the Coast.
