Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang' plans to devolve whistle blowing to fight corruption in counties

Homa Bay Senator Moses Kajwang' intends to devolve whistle blowing to his county to fight graft.

"I'll apply the same effort we made in blowing whistles to question the national government to prevent cases of corruption and disservice to the people in my county," said Mr Kajwang, who was one of the MPs who was ordered to withdraw from chambers for disrupting President Uhuru's State of the Nation address.

Speaking on a vernacular radio talk show, the senator said the movement would help contractors who had complained of not getting paid after completing their work, get their money.

"I am telling contractors too to get ready with their whistles. I am coming down there to look for where the problem lies so that they get their pay," said Kajwang'.

MPs who were ordered out of the House last Thursday included MPs John Mbadi (Suba), Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay County), Tom Kajwang (Ruaraka), Fred Outa (Nyando) and Simba Arati (Dagoreti North).

Ndhiwa Youth ODM leader Ogalo Akech and his Karachuonyo counterpart Collince Ondeng' supported the legislators, saying that was the only way they could express their grievances.
