Kenya Defence Forces troops kill Al Shabaab IED expert Maalim Sheriff and 20 other terrorists

Kenya Defence Forces troops under Amisom struck an Al Shabaab operations and training camp at Sidimo, Gedo region in Somalia.

During the engagement, Amisom troops killed 20 terrorists while others escaped with injuries.  Among the dead was Maalim Sheriff an Improvised Explosive device (IED) expert who was the main target.

During the incident 16 AK47 rifles, 6 IED, 2 pistols, 8 RPGS, assorted ammunition and Global Positioning System (GPS) gadget were recovered.

KDF officers expressed optimism that the war against Al Shabaab will continue until they win.
