Kenyan man commits suicide over 'wife's affair' with his closest friend

A 44-year-old man in a suspected love triangle committed suicide yesterday in Molo town.

Wilson Koskei allegedly left behind a suicide note in which he accused his estranged wife of betraying him with his friend.

His body was discovered dangling on a rope inside his bedroom, a few days after he went missing.

In the note, Koskei accuses his wife of colluding with his friend to frustrate him and squander Sh500, 000 he would have used to improve his life.

The deceased was a small business trader in the town.

Confirming the death, Molo police boss Jacob Leskinywa said neighbours and friends broke into Koskei’s house yesterday and found his body.

Mr Leskinywa said they later informed police officers, who found the note in the deceased’s trousers.

“The deceased attributed his death to a number of issues such as marriage and failure to attain what he desired in life but more leads are underway,” said Leskinywa.

Meanwhile, the decomposing body of a woman was found dumped at a railway line at Kasarani, Elburgon, in Molo.

Mutamayiyu chief Bethwel Kibe said the body was discovered by road users, who were crossing the railway. He said the body was taken to Elburgon Hospital Mortuary for postmortem.

The chief observed that the woman might have been killed by criminals and later dumped in the area.

“The decomposing body was discovered by road users dumped along the railway line. It is believed the woman might have been killed elsewhere and later dumped in the area,” said Mr Kibe.
