He was nearly swept away by a wall of water when a levee right behind him suddenly crumbled.

The CCTV News reporter was covering floods in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province in China, when disaster struck.

The camera kept rolling as they dashed away from the torrent of foaming water to reach higher ground.

Professionals all the way, they captured footage of the churning water they had just escaped.

Jiangsu has been hit by heavy rain for the last fortnight causing flooding and chaos across the region.
