The May-Paq 12 round encounter, where I bet  many will lose their money in bets, will see the winner walk away with close to US$200 million, street cred and extra fans.

The thought of the cash reward would give many, including the loser of the fight, a splitting headache for days.

Last week, I met up with Jomino Records founder and CEO, Steve Waruta, who recently jetted back into the country after he relocated to the US a couple of years back to pursue music production related studies and business.

Years back, while he was still in the country, many would mistakenly think that he, Ken wa Maria I and were related.

Well, that’s when we were all sporting dreadlocks. He cut his before travelling to the US. Now that he is rocking a mohawk similar to Ken’s, the two should be referred to as the ‘long lost twins.’

Musically speaking, Steve, whose Jomino empire created some of the biggest names in the industry including Size 8, DNA, Kenrazy and Visita among others, says he is back to claim his position.

Currently, the renowned producer is working with budding artiste and songwriter Twenty 2, who recently launched his latest track, Mchumba.

The song’s video, which is already causing ripples in the airwaves, was shot by Ogopa Deejays and the former football star promises to give Diamond Platinumz a run for his money with his mellow voice, lyrics and laid-back demeanour.

We grabbed a bottle of whisky at Valley Arcade served by our favourite attendant, Esther, an ardent  reader of The Nairobian.

Saturday evening, I packed up and made my way to Naivasha’s most popular stop, the Crayfish Camp.

After a gruesome drive caused by the heavy rains, I finally made it on time to be hosted for dinner by the establishment’s proprietor, Peter.

After dinner, Peter and I strayed to DCK Centre, just 100 meters from Crayfish to the latest cool sports pub, Amsterdam, for some dance and whisky. We danced the night until the wee hours before re-coiling to Crayfish for the night.

On Sunday, we woke up to a shiny morning that called for an early swim and a vodoski enriched breakfast, courtesy of fellow columnist Tony Mochama as we caught up with actress Janet Kirina and stylist Silvia Njoki.

The super-calm Janet reveals that she is currently working on a soon-to-be-aired TV show before we showered her with affection as she celebrated her 29th birthday.

We were later joined by Jimmy from Crayfish and Ben, my childhood classmate, for lunch before the high-rolling VDJ Pierra Makena drove in with her gals in preparation for the Mascaraed Party that she hosts at the venue.

The party, now in its second year, will be held on May 30 and Pierra promises to bring down the roof.

We later drove back to Nai with mash Auto’s Odhis as we rekindled memories of thamba gwenze crew and the crazy madness and wild fun that we had at Crayfish in the past.
