Nyagarama creates two new offices in his first reshuffle

Nyamira, Kenya: A new executive department has been created in Governor John Nyagarama's first cabinet mini shuffle.

The new department, titled Public administration and co-ordination of devolved units, will be headed by Gladys Momanyi, who has been in charge of Education as the county executive member and Alice Manoti as chief officer.

The reorganisation saw a few ministers and chief executive officers reshuffled with Mr Nyagarama saying the new officials will fully implement performance contracts in their respective departments signed late last year.

The governor also created another section, known as County Results Office, in his office which will be responsible for evaluation of the county's development agenda.

Speaking during a media briefing in his office, Nyagarama said the county results office will be responsible for co-ordination of all county government projects undertaken by various entities under the county.

It will also work closely with other chief officers and bring to the attention of the county secretary the implementation of policies and development plans.

The governor said the results office will also develop and implement the county integrated strategic plan in liaison with all stakeholders by facilitating effective public participation.

Co-ordinate matters

The public administration and co-ordination of devolved units department will handle human resource issues and coordinate all county administrative matters.

Town management boards and administrators and infrastructural provision of all market amenities will now be handled by the department of lands and urban management.
