PLO, Wako criticise Supreme Court

Director of Kenya School of Law Prof PLO Lumumba has said the Supreme Court judgment that validated President Uhuru Kenyatta's victory should not be taught in any law schools.

In a speech delivered to delegates attending the Law Society of Kenya annual conference in Diani, Kwale County on Friday, Lumumba claimed the judges relied on faulty jurisprudence to arrive at the decision. Busia Senator Amos Wako, a former Attorney General, also faulted the judgment and also expressed concern over the rate by which the Supreme Court was overturning Court of Appeal decisions.

"The authorities the judges relied on were from Nigeria and Pakistan which are military states" said Prof Lumumba.
