Bhartesh Shah to replace Julius Kipng'etich at Equity

Kenya: Equity Group Holdings has announced the appointment of Mr Bhartesh Shah to the position of Chief Operations Officer. He replaces the outgoing COO, Mr Julius Kipng'etich, who made an executive move from the bank, to take up the position of CEO at retailer, Uchumi Supermarkets.

Prior to the appointment, Shah has been serving at Equity Bank as the Group Director of Operations. The appointment, which takes immediate effect, is geared at enhancing the firm's capacity.

Speaking when he announced the appointment, Equity Group Holdings Managing Director James Mwangi explained that the company's board had settled on Shah to provide strategic leadership, based on his vast international banking experience.

"The Board of Directors has expressed appreciation for Mr Kipng'etich's service to the group."
