Has money been poured ahead of FKF elections?

Monday Blues
FKF ELECTIONS
Gor Semelang'o and Hussein Mohammed are both eyeing the coveted position of FKF chairman

On Saturday during the Kenya versus Ethiopia football game at Nyayo stadium, a group of youths heckled Football Kenya Federation (FKF) chairman Sam Nyamweya, who later said money had been poured to finish him ahead of the federation's elections.

He seemed to channel his blame towards Gor Semelang'o, who had given Harambee stars a Sh100,000 cash donation ahead of the game.

And now, showbiz and philanthropy seem to be playing a key role in shaping the direction the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) campaigns are taking, three months ahead of the polls.

With the embattled FKF chairman expected to defend his seat, former Youth Fund boss Gor Semelang'o and Extreme Sports CEO Hussein Mohammed seem to be the two major forces eyeing the coveted position.

The last two weeks have seen the two consult with major stake holders and their visibility in current sports activities is eminent.

Mohammed, who ran for the post and lost narrowly in 2011, is expected to officially announce his candidature this week before launching his blueprint while Gor is expected to unveil his ambitious plan in the course of this month.

The two are riding on their popularity in both the showbiz world and sports as they have been running many charity activities in both sectors.
