I'm terrified he's going to leave me
Dear Coleen,
No matter how much my other half reassures me, I feel insecure about whether he loves me and if he is going to leave me.
Despite being together for more than a year, I cannot help questioning him and lately it has caused arguments.
He is a very good looking guy but I have always been unhappy with my weight and appearance. If I cannot accept how I look, I do not see how he can.
I do not want to lose him but my insecurities are driving us apart. What can I do?

Your insecurities will absolutely drive him away because there is nothing worse than someone who is emotionally draining.
He has told you he loves you – and he fancies you enough to have got together with you in the first place. These are your issues and you have to deal with them.
There is no point in sitting around moaning about your weight – do something about it. It will help build your confidence and self-esteem.
It might be worthwhile looking into healthy eating and exercise or joining a slimming club. You will feel so much better for it – both physically and emotionally.
I wonder if someone has done or said something to you in the past to affect how you feel. If so, that is understandable, but you cannot tar everyone with the same brush.
Your boyfriend has done nothing to give you cause to doubt his fidelity or how much he loves you.
However, if you keep accusing him of not loving you enough, then he might well end up feeling that he can’t win and give up on the relationship as a result.
