'Khalwale, Wangari still United Democratic Forum members'

United Democratic Forum (UDF) Secretary General Abraham Limo has said party leader Musalia Mudavadi has no powers to suspend party officials.

On Monday, a special National Delegates Conference (NEC) announced the expulsion of senators Boni Khalwale and Martha Wangari, nominated MP and embattled chairman Hassan Osman.

Yesterday, Limo also stressed that Mudavadi and his deputy Jeremiah Kioni are not part of the UDF team hence they cannot kick out party members. "We condemn the decision made yesterday by Mudavadi's team. It was unprocedural since there were no legitimate members of UDF," said Limo.

He claimed the party leader wants to divert attention to avoid appearing before a disciplinary tribunal formed by the office of the Register of Political Parties.

"These power games are tactics by people who want to show that this party belongs to one person. We fully support our chairman, Wangari, Khalwale and nominated member of county assembly Nathan Kamidi," added Limo who was accompanied by other NEC officials among them Wangari. She also expressed her disappointment.
