The National Alliance calls on Luo Nyanza to work with other political parties

KISUMU, KENYA: The National Alliance party (TNA) has called on Luo Nyanza residents to embrace other political parties for development in the region.

TNA chairman Johnson Sakaja said it was time the region gave other parties consideration instead of putting their eggs in one basket.

This came as he assured that the Jubilee Government will not side-line Nyanza by all means, since President Uhuru Kenyatta was working on unifying the whole country.

“It was time the residents of Nyanza thought differently so that the country moves forward with fresh ideas,” said Sakaja.

TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo said that Luo Nyanza should steer away from their usual way of putting all their eggs in one basket as it has worked against them for many years.

He said people from the same home should never travel in one ship lest they risk perishing. He said the region should have many ships (parties) so that when one does not reach their destination they have another to cling to.

“We should be in many political parties so that when we fail in one party, we have another party which can steer our development agenda,” said Oloo.

Oloo said other regions have more than one party and are really doing well by working together, adding that they are never in the cold in any government that comes in place.

Speaking during the Thanksgiving Mass for Nominated Senator, Joy Gwendo at Kolwa in Kisumu County, the TNA Secretary General said it was time for other leaders in the region to pass the mantle to youthful ones to lead the region to prosperity.

“We have leaders who have done well for our country from this region, but after a long struggle all their lives, they should pass the mantle to other people,” said Oloo.

He said after losing three times in the presidential race, the region should try and make friends with the people in government so that it benefits from the fruits that come with it.

Oloo said he will work day and night to ensure that President Uhuru goes for another term in office come 2017.

Gwendo called on the locals to give the jubilee government the necessary support since it had shown good will by nominating her to the senate.

“We have been lied to for a long time, it was time to wake up and choose our own oath that will bring the change we deserve,” said Gwendo.
