Chiefs in Kakamega accused of asking for bribes to list orphans and disabled in cash transfer plan

People with living with disability and benefiting from the programme had begun agitating for their rights without fear of discrimination.

KAKAMEGA: The national government is investigating claims that chiefs and their assistants have been asking for bribes from beneficiaries of cash transfer programmes.

A team of officers from the Ministry of Labour made an impromptu tour of the county yesterday and asked local residents to report the culprits to the relevant authorities.
